Erika Gun Cab.

This is the basic rough out of the gun cabinet and lower shelf cabinet.

The top cab is about 50" and the bottom about 24"

Look to the left and you will see the three slabs bottom, mid and top on the ent. center.

Your gun cabinet will have a similar layout.

This is Day One.

This is like Day 2 & 3 with steelhead fishing and horn hunting worked in.

The hinges are installed and the doors fit nicely.

A pine panel has been glued-up for the bottom door.

Glass door will be ordered soon.

I'll come down and visit with you about a lock for the top and bottom cabinet.

My only question is the layout of the woodburning.

My only question is the layout of the woodburning.

Instead of St. Joe River I could put  "The Floodwood", a map of the area, and maybe some artwork.

Quiz him on the names of some of the places he frequents in that area. Creeks, mountains and other landmarks would really add to the overall effect.

This is being taken care of by Charlie.

Day 4 The log trim is on and the door panel has been set in place.

The three slabs bottom, middle and top have not yet been planed, cut to fit and sanded.

The cabinet is starting to shape-up.

Next, I will be working on the inside of the top cabinet.  Gun rests top and bottom.  I might be able to have space for seven.  yes

How many shelves do you want in the bottom cabinet?

Day 5 All of the log trim is on and interior dividers are in place

I placed all my rifles in the case and they fit nicely.

One of my shotguns also fits well.

Could you measure the length of the rifles and shotguns?  47 1/2" will be the upper limit with anything under 47" fitting perfectly  erika OK

Day 6 The locks are installed inside elk antler buttons. gun rests have been installed. Panel wood burned and installed.  Glass ordered yesterday might be ready today for etching. Final step fine sanding and finish.  Below are close-ups of the cabinet details.
